# Terms of use and licenses

You may read, copy, share and adapt everything on Terminal Email under its open licenses. The information is checked against each project's own sources, but it comes with no warranty.

## Content and data

The pages, the client data, the screenshots, the JSON API and the Markdown copies are licensed under [Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/). You may copy and adapt them, including for commercial use, when you:

- credit Terminal Email and link to [terminalemail.com](https://terminalemail.com/) or the page you used;
- share your adapted version under the same license.

The data is free to use in your own tools: [/api/clients.json](/api/clients.json) has every client and tool, and [llms.txt](/llms.txt) lists every page.

## Code

The code that builds the site is licensed under the [MIT License](LICENSE). The fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. See [the license notes](LICENSE-CONTENT.md) for which files fall under which license.

## Names and trademarks

Program and project names belong to their owners. Listing a program does not mean its developers endorse Terminal Email, and Terminal Email does not endorse every program it lists.

## Accuracy

Facts come from each project's website, repository, license file and package listings, and each page links to the sources it was checked against. Programs change, so a fact can go out of date between checks. Check the project's own documentation before you rely on a detail, and [report a mistake](https://github.com/forwardemail/terminalemail.com/issues/new?template=correction.yml) when you find one.

Install commands and configs are given as examples. Read a command before you run it, especially one that pipes a download into a shell.

## No warranty

The site, its data and its code are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. Both the MIT License and the Creative Commons license disclaim warranties and limit the authors' liability; their full text applies.

## Privacy

See [Privacy](/privacy/): the site sets no cookies and loads nothing from other sites.
